The research and development project related to the use of metaverses, not only in the mining industry but also in many other industries seeking to adapt this significant technological innovation to their processes, poses a challenge that we are facing.
For this reason, Natural Colombia Mineral has started to establish strategic partnerships with companies that provide such technologies and have been developing the necessary software to simplify certain processes and, in turn, increase efficiency. This reduces training times, minimizes accidents in underground work, shortens distances between team members, avoids unnecessary travel, and promotes working and interacting through virtual reality. This leads to reduced operational costs in mining activities and fosters constant and seamless communication between the impact area and the planning site. It’s worth noting that mining companies in countries like Chile and Peru have already begun implementing these solutions.
It’s important to clarify that this technology is still in its early stages and we are far from a point where everyone can connect to a metaverse for interactive experiences.
